At high speeds, the centrifuge experiences very strong centrifugal forces, which can cause the appliance to rupture. To ensure safe laboratory operation, all centrifuges should be inspected before each use.
How to check?
Plastic centrifuges are easy to inspect and do not require special equipment. Before placing the tube at an angle to the light, observe initial signs of excessive stress on the plastic, such as darkening, discoloration, or visible "cracks" (visible slits). Over time, these cracks will widen and eventually render the tube unusable.
